Pens I LOVE

As a Bullet Journal Enthusiast… it’s a right of passage to LOVE pens. And oh do I.  I love so many, I can’t even count. So today I’m going to share with you my current favorites & how I carry them!

You would think this would be a VERY long list, and truth be told it really is.  But I’m going to focus on just my current loves. If I had to add a few more, just by mention they would be Stadetler Triplus Fine-liners, Papermate Flare Pens and the Papermate InkJoy Gel.

So lets jump right in! I, of course, dedicated a page in the back of my current BuJo to express my love for these beauties.

My main pen of choice is the Pilot G-2 in the 0.7 mm point.  I recently was given about 10 packages  of these pens, so I really need to get a move on using them, plus it will be quite some time before I’ll need to purchase another.  They are a super smooth writing gel ink pen.  And I LOVE THEM, with the exception that the ink smears if I color over it with my Tombows… insert sobbing cry here after I learned that the hard way…

My second pen of choice is the Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen with a Medium Nib.  I have several of these, all with different ink. But I only carry one of them with me at all times with basic black ink. This is a GREAT starter fountain pen.  You can read about them a little bit more here.

I also carry a basic ultra fine tip sharpie marker.  This is for use in writing on Washi Tape.  I don’t use this in my bullet journal directly on the pages as it will bleed through.

Next up is the 4 pack of the Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens.  The set I purchased comes with  S, F, M and B tips.  I generally use the S for filling in small lines and items on my monthly calendar as I’m setting it up, the F and M tips I use for tracing my headers and filling in.  I don’t really use the B as its a brush style tip, and I’ve yet to master the brush lettering.

Last, but certainly not least, are my Tombow dual tip markers.  I LOVE THESE MARKERS! I was super hesitant to purchase these since they are a little bit on the pricey side.  BUT I’M SO GLAD I DID! I have the 10 pack in “Bright“.  I’m telling you… you won’t regret it… the colors are just amazing! I’ll use these pens for color-coding my calendar and daily time logs, 2017 in pixels page and for adding extra color anywhere I feel its needed.

My Pilot G-2 Pen fits easily into the pen slot on this awesomely cool cover I purchased for my Leuchtturm1917 dot grid journal on Etsy.  I’ll be doing a review on that soon right here on the blog. And that I’ll carry with me EVERYWHERE.

  1. Strangely, I’ve bought far less pens since I started my Bullet Journal. I discovered Papermate Ink Joys and that’s it, I’m hooked! I love the range of colours but get a bit annoyed when they clot and smudge. I’m still to find a pen I don’t manage to smudge!
